Born in Indiana and educated at Purdue University, I have been a resident of Nashville since 1987. I grew up in the lakeside community of Monticello, with a small-town atmosphere of caring and concern for friends and neighbors. It was very important to our parents that my 2 sisters and I learn the value of a strong work ethic and dedication. We began our work lives before our teenage years. We learned to love the sense of accomplishment it gave us.
13 years in New York City gave me the invaluable experience of living and working with people from every culture and walk-of-life. My job took me to every corner of the United States, Europe, and Asia. I learned to respect differences, ask questions, never assume and, most importantly, listen to understand.
